Pastor Chris Ross founded Breakthrough Ministries International in 2003 with a heart for people and an unshakeable conviction in the power of the Gospel. He was ordained in 2005 by Apostle Colin Lafoy of the Assemblies of God Church SA.
In 2008, a divine connection with Bishop Dag Heward-Mills ignited a vision to plant churches across South Africa and beyond. He leads the Belhar Ministers Fraternal and the Association of Related Churches.
Married to Lady Pastor Lucille, they are blessed with three children: Jamie, Bevan, and Jason.

Get Directions →From a faithful gathering of 12 to a growing international movement - God has been faithful every step of the way.
Pastor Chris Ross is led by God to start a church in Belhar. The first service is held in March 2003 with approximately 12 people - a small but faithful beginning, named Belhar Christian Church.
As members from outside Belhar join, the church becomes Breakthrough Christian Church. The congregation fellowships at Excelsior School Hall for over a decade of steady growth and ministry.
Pastor Chris is ordained by Apostle Colin Lafoy, General Secretary of the Assemblies of God Church SA - marking the beginning of a more structured, Spirit-led leadership journey.
The Holy Spirit leads Pastor Chris to Loyalty & Disloyalty by Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, who becomes his spiritual father and mentor - igniting a vision to plant BMI branches internationally.
BMI moves into a dedicated rental building in Belhar with the intention to purchase - but God had even bigger plans in store.
After much prayer, a large property in Delft becomes available. By God's grace BMI purchases it and builds a beautiful Cathedral. The church is renamed Breakthrough Ministries International as branches are planted.
BMI now has branches in Wesbank, Rosendal, Ravensmead, Ext. 13 Belhar, Leiden, Delft South, Midrand, East London, Upington, Symphony, and Accra - and the mission continues.
